HOMELESS HOSPITALITY NETWORK PROGRAM

This council consists of 25 area churches which provide a place for a two week stay for homeless men during the winter months.
Food, housing, attention by a social worker and assistance in attending support programs such as AA are provided. - THE IHOC STORY

Sunday March 26th, - Sunday April 9th, St. Andrew's is housing the IHOC Program here at the Church.

For the first week, March 26th through April 1st, we provided the men with overnight hosts, meals and fellowship, social hosts and other needs.
Various SAUMC Individauls & Church Groups volunteered including our UMYF youth group

Our good friends at Trinity Presbyterian helpied out and providing meals and hosts for the men at our church for the second week. April 2nd - 9th,

God has done an amazing work through this program, impacting and changing the lives of countless homeless men for 26 years
and we get to be a part of it! I'm excited to see what God will do through us this year.

To help with the men's living facilities while at our Church, Missions did the following building improvements:

  • 2010: Paid for installation of a Shower facility so men don't have to go offsite.
  • 2013 : Cubicle was built around the shower so it had a private changing room.
  • Also in 2013 a washer-dryer was installed so men could do their Laundry at the Church also.
