Series Idea:  Join us this Christmas season as we explore the birth of Christ through some of our favorite movies!

Nov. 24: “Home Alone” (Luke 1: 26-28).  As we prepare to enter the busy season of Christmas, are our homes (our hearts) ready for the arrival of the Savior?

Dec. 1: “Christmas Vacation” (Isaiah 9: 6-7). All Clark wants is a place of welcome and hope for his family.  He wants to find something special that he feels his family is missing.  With everything going on in the world, we can relate to wanting to find hope.

Dec. 8: “The Grinch” (John 15: 9-13).  It takes the Grinch experiencing love, after much reluctance, to understand the change that takes place.  Are we loving others and creating a space to be loved?

Dec. 15: “Elf” (Luke 2: 8-20).  Just as Buddy is filled with joy, and passes it on for others to experience, we too should be the same.  Our experience of Christ should cultivate joy deep inside of us to pass along to others.

Dec. 22: “A Christmas Carol” (Matthew 1: 18-25).  After Ebeneezer goes through the past, present, and future, he finds peace.  We can look at the past, and present, and trust the future to see that God is a source of peace.

Dec. 24: “It’s A Wonderful Life” (Luke 2: 1-7).  Christ came to be a life-changer for us.  We experience change through Christ, like George experiences a changed life after a visit from a special guest.

Dec. 29: “The Polar Express” (Hebrews 4: 14-16). In the book and movie, each child gets one word to describe them.  Now that Christmas has passed, what is the one word you take with you?  The word is designed to be shared with others, just like the kids were to live out their word.
